This page here is where you can follow along on everything I did every week and get a basic understanding of what it is that I'm working on. It is used to upload blogs to keep you. involved and show what steps I'm taking to move forward with this inquiry.
Week of 10/29
For this week my main objective was to come up with a basic game plan on how I was going to raise awareness on this inquiry efficiently. I came to the conclusion that an interview with a local police chief would show people that everyone is human and educate people that police officers put their lives at risk for our safety everyday. This week I was able to accomplish getting data to use for my interview, and was also able to get a doc to come up with some interview questions.
Week of 11/5
For this week I worked on figuring out who and when I was going to do this interview. My football coach my freshman and sophomore year was the chief of police of my town, knowing him personally would make this interview a lot easier for me and scheduling an interview wouldn't be a challenge. After contacting him to see his availability, I proceeded to go back to the doc that I created to come up with interview questions. I based my questions using the information that I found and made sure to include some facts within the questions. My plan is to use questions that will bring out his perspective and show the average person what it is like to be in the police force.
Week of 11/12
Blog Post for this week: For this week my goals were to gain more overall knowledge to better understand and prepare for the interview. With this basic information and the personal information I will get from the interview, I think I will have a very in depth understanding of my topic from many perspectives. Collecting this knowledge will help me educate students and others about the importance and appreciation we should have for our police officers.
